Toast has a pending IPO valued at about $18 billion, according to Bloomberg News. Toast technology has been used by nearly 50,000 restaurants and the company has made $38 billion in a year. The company, which was incorporated in 2011, plans to use the symbol TOST on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company has said its software allows for diners to order online, in-person or over their phones. Restaurants can also use the guest data it captures to craft loyalty and marketing programs.
