National restaurant week

National Restaurant Week is an opportunity for you to support local restaurants in your community.

When you eat from a restaurant you are doing a lot of things at once: You are supporting local businesses. You are helping create local jobs. You are making memorable experiences.

When is National Restaurant Week? National Restaurant Week, served by Toast, takes place October 4 through October 10. 2021 was the first year for #nationalrestaurantweek.

Restaurants are the soul of our communities.

“Restaurants pivoted, innovated, and welcomed us through challenging times this past year and they did so not just for their own survival but for the communities they love and serve,” Toast wrote on its National Restaurants Week news page.

More than 11 million people are employed by nearly 800,000 restaurants, according to Toast.

“Restaurants have been there for us, and we’ll continue to be there for them.”

Not Not Tacos

550 W Date St Suite B, San Diego, CA (Little Italy Food Hall)

Are they tacos? Well, they’re not not tacos. Established in 2018, by San Diego hospitality group Grain & Grit Collective and TV personality, author, and cook-extraordinaire, Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien, Not Not Tacos serves up genre-bending fare that pushes the envelope of culinary creativity. Imagined by Zien and brought to life as a team, the concept of Not Not Tacos is to breakdown preconceived notions of “tacos” and provide fiercely-innovative and unexpected items. These aren’t your typical Mexican-influenced tacos; no carnitas, pollo, or carne asada here. These are big, bold, full of flavor and made from things not normally found in a taco (looking at you meatloaf, salmon & pastrami).
