When Aztec Stadium opens in 2022 there will be many great local food options to eat, including our own Cali BBQ.
San Diego State University announced the eight initial food vendors for Aztec Stadium at SDSU Mission Valley.
The restaurants drafted to feed fans at Aztec Stadium were: Batch & Box (craft cookies), Best Pizza & Brew (pizza and beer), Cali BBQ (smoked barbecue and sides), The Crack Shack (fried chicken), Everbowl (healthy superfoods bowls), Gaglione Brothers (cheesesteak sandwiches), Hodad’s (burgers and shakes) and The Taco Stand (tacos and more).
The venue will still sell traditional stadium refreshments. More food and beverage partners will be announced later.
Aztec Stadium Construction Complete in 2022 —
San Diego State University is building the new Aztec Stadium which will seat 35,000 people. The mission is to open the stadium before the Aztec Football Team’s season opener on Sept. 3, 2022.
“Our goal in every aspect of this project has been to provide San Diego with not only a premier multipurpose stadium, but with an experience that is true to our great city,” said Derek Grice of SDSU in a news statement. “Partnering with these phenomenal local brands delivers on our vision to have premium amenities for our patrons as well as provide an experience that is unique to San Diego.”
“Fans at Aztec Stadium will be treated to a best-in-class hospitality experience featuring iconic San Diego brands that have brought smiles to countless San Diegans over the years,” said Susan Hawke, executive general manager of food and beverage at Aztec Stadium.

Here are the food vendors who are partnering with Aztec Stadium to feed hungry fans once it opens in 2022.
Batch & Box: Dozens of unique and classic cookies.
Best Pizza & Brew: New York-style pizza slices, sandwiches, and pasta.
Cali BBQ: Smoked meat, BBQ sandwiches, and sides.
The Crack Shack: Fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, and salad bowls.
Everbowl: Build-your-own bowls of “superfoods” like berries, fruits and nuts.
Gaglione Brothers: Specialize in all kinds of cheesesteaks.
Hodad’s: Classic burgers and shakes.
The Taco Stand: Tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.
